Mississauga’s 5 year plan for MiWay
The MiWay, Mississauga’s public transit system, is changing to meet the changing needs of the residents of Mississauga. The plan will be implemented from 2016 to 2020. The plan includes removing and modifying pre-existing routes based on demand and travel analysis from the community, which brings many changes to routes in the community of Churchill Meadows as well.
Some of the many proposed features include an increase in the frequency of services and less waiting time, but it may also result in longer walks to certain destinations that experience less demand. There have been many public information sessions where the blueprints for the plan were discussed, and public input was received.
If you were unable to attend the MiWay information sessions, or would like to know specific details, such as which routes are being changed, you can read more information online at www.miway.ca/miwayfive. If you have further questions or concerns, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and let them know. The last day to submit any feedback is Monday, June 8, 2015. Be sure to spread the message to anyone that may be affected by this change, before the deadline.
Also, if you are between 12 – 14 years old, you can get your own MiWay Freedom Pass. This allows you to travel for free within Mississauga during this summer (July 1 to August 31), with access to free public indoor and outdoor swimming.
