The Churchill Meadows Residents Association was honoured to receive two awards at Heritage Mississauga’s annual Credits Gala. The event was held on October 12, 2017. The CMRA, as an organization, was the recipient of the Community Heritage Award and Dr. Humaira Bashir, a member of CMRA, was the recipient of the Volunteer Heritage Award.
The prestigious Credits Gala is held by Heritage Mississauga every year to honour the work done by volunteer groups, individuals, businesses and public representatives to promote and conserve our city’s heritage. The Churchill Meadows Residents Association was nominated in the Community Heritage Award (group) category. The other two nominees were Friends of the Britannia Schoolhouse and Mississauga Quilters Guild. This recognition is an affirmation, at the municipal level, of the work the CMRA is doing to build the community and promote the diverse culture of Mississauga.
Dr. Humaira Bashir was nominated by CMRA in the category of Volunteer Heritage Award. She is a tireless volunteer and a veteran member of the CMRA’s Board of Directors.
