CMRA issues New Membership Policy

New Membership Policy

Beginning April 1st 2017, our new membership policy comes into effect. Members will be required to renew their membership each year by paying a non-refundable annual membership fee.  The fee for this coming year will be $10.00 and your membership will be valid from April 1st 2017 to March 31st 2018. The membership fee will be used to cover the cost of our operating expenses.

CMRA members count! Being a member in the CMRA entitles you to vote at the AGM to elect the new board of directors. As well, members must approve any changes to the constitution. Members can stand to be elected to the board of directors or serve on committees.  The Board of Directors is accountable to the members. Members can request to see past minutes or financial records.

Churchill Meadows residents are encouraged to join the CMRA. Anyone who is at least 16 years of age, is not an elected public official (or on the immediate staff of a public official) and lives within our boundaries is eligible to become a member or renew their membership. Those interested in renewing or signing up for a 2017/2018 membership can do so starting in March 2017. There will be an opportunity to sign up during the April 13th 2017 AGM.  Please contact us for more information regarding becoming a member.

Kudos go to Michael and Mya of Churchill Meadows! Lemony Fresh, their lemonade and cupcake stand, raised over $150.00 for Ronald McDonald House Charities during the Misty Pine street sale and party. These young entrepreneurs took responsibility for every aspect of their venture. From designing a logo and making t-shirts to contacting Ronald McDonald House, they did it all themselves. They even used their own allowances to purchase the supplies and ingredients needed to get started!

Way to go, Michael and Mya! Churchill Meadows is proud of you!!

Great Gardens of Churchill Meadows

There are some very dedicated gardeners residing in Churchill Meadows. We met with one such gardener, Azim, for a tour of his beautiful property.

Azim’s Garden on Churchill Meadows Blvd.

Perennial such as roses, poppies and echinacea are mixed with geraniums and coleus for a spectacular display. The backyard is dedicated to Azim’s vegetable garden….and it’s extraordinary!

Carrots, cabbage, squash, tomato – you name it and I’m willing to bet that it can be found growing in Azim’s vegetable garden!

Thanks to Azim and his wife for helping to make Churchill Meadows such a beautiful place to live!

Calling all Churchill Meadows gardeners!

Could this be the largest squash in Churchill Meadows?

If you’re proud of your garden, send us a picture and we can post it on our website or feature it in our next newsletter. Send us your tips or tell us about your favourite flowers. We want to hear from you!
