The Mayor of Mississauga, Bonnie Crombie, is hosting the inaugural Mayor’s Youth Employment Expo On Sunday, June 12th, 2016 from 11AM – 3PM. It is entirely free of charge to youth as well as businesses interested in participating. Registration is mandatory at www.youthjobexpo.ca.
The Mayor’s Youth Employment Expo seeks to connect youth to businesses currently looking to fill full-time, part-time and seasonal positions now and in the near future, in addition to those seeking youth for paid internships, volunteer opportunities and co-op placements. Our goal is simple – creating mutually beneficial connections between talented youth in search of employment and local businesses in need of talented youth. The Employment Expo will draw youth from high school, local colleges and universities, post-graduates and those who have completed their studies and are now in search of employment.
The Mayor’s Youth Employment Expo will give young people between the ages of 15- 30 the opportunity to network with employers, business and community leaders, and with other ambitious and like-minded youth.
Job Seekers – Explore employment and volunteer opportunities, network with local employers and improve your resume writing and interview skills. Please bring your resume!
Employers – Booth space is free and available on a first come, first served basis. Don’t miss out on this recruitment opportunity! Please contact Mayor@Mississauga.ca to indicate your interest in participating.

Churchill Meadows has a unique privilege this year to host the Canada Day 2016 Event within its boundaries!
CMRA and four other local not-for-profit organizations are organizing the evening portion of the ‘Canada Day Together Festival’. The festival will see a gathering of diverse residents from all across Mississauga celebrating their unity as Canadians.
CMRA will have its own booth during the daytime portion of the festival. We expect a high footfall on our booth where CMRA directors and volunteers will interact with the residents and other visitors. CMRA will be giving away an iPad to the winner of our iPad Contest held on Canada Day 2016 event. See below for contest details.

What’s that sound? Could it be Opportunity Knocking? On Wednesday June 10th you have the opportunity to help design your own Community Centre and Park.
The City of Mississauga has put aside 55 acres at the intersection of Erin Centre and Ninth Line, to build an innovative all-season sports park (Park 459). Tournament level lit sports fields, nature, parkland, outdoor amenities – you name it (literally).
And a 30,000 square foot Indoor Sports and Recreation Facility.
And we need Churchill Meadows residents to share their ideas.
What do you want to do in your park?
Take in nature?
Play – all year round?
Enjoy the quiet?
What do you want to do in your Community Centre?
Celebrate your holidays?
Get involved and participate?
Display your culture?
Engage with your community?
All of the above? Sure!
But how this all happens is up to you. So come share your ideas!
