Canada Day 2016 – Recap
Canada Day at Churchill Meadows Community Commons
On July 1, 2016 residents of the churchill meadows and surrounding communities gathered for a fun family day at the Churchill Meadows Community Commons to celebrate Canada Day. Apart from the petting zoo and face painting, there were a plathora of booths including the Churchill Meadows Residents Association booth. At the event, our directors interacted with the members of the community and offered fudge donated by Cora’s at Meadowvale. The ice cool pink lemonade was a hit on such hot summer day. Our other sponsors, Zayed from Urooj Financials and M Wasi from Cityscape dropped by to meet area residents.
While the kids enjoyed fudge, their parents were excited about our iPad contest: to win an iPad mini, one had to like our Facebook page. We had an interest in the contest by the community and received many likes through out the day. As the day came to a close, we cleaned up our booth and the park. In the night festivities, some of our directors interacted with our guests and informed them of our association and our contest.
The winner of the iPad contest, picked through a random draw, was Hifza Musa. Congratulations Hifza!
CMRA would like to thank our sponsors, our partners and our residents for celebrating Canada Day with us. We hope to see you again next year!
The event closed with an amazing fireworks display:
